Admin Overview

Everything up to now has been about who can see the data. Admin is about who can manage the eXate tenancy itself, a separate and narrower concern.

The Admin is a person who has the authority to make significant changes on the eXate portal. The Admin has the authority to add and update:

  1. Users who can access the eXate application
  2. The different Roles that can be assigned to Users

An admin of the tenancy is able to create API access, as well as revoke and manage it.

To navigate to the Admin page, press the "Admin" section on the left-hand menu bar to access all permission controls. There are three menu options available in the Admin section: Client, Roles, and Users.

The Client section of the Admin controls is also where you set the Client ID and Secret used to generate the Bearer token.

Sections

  • Roles: Define what a role is permitted to do.
  • Users: Add, edit, and manage the status of users.
  • Metering: Track and bill usage across all eXate products.
  • Administration Guides: Step-by-step guides for tenant creation, client setup, notifications, and API testing.
