Location

Access Location settings via the Vault, using your eXate credentials, then click "Location" on the left-hand menu bar. You'll find Namespace and Connection Storage pages.

Namespace

The namespace registers a namespace within the eXate system and links it to the API endpoints.

To edit a namespace, click the pencil icon next to it. Editable fields:

  • Name: name of the namespace
  • IsDefault: toggle indicating whether the namespace is default

When editing a namespace, you can also add an API endpoint via the "+" button next to the header:

  • Instance Name: name of the API endpoint
  • EndPoint URL: URL of the endpoint
  • EndPoint Type: type of endpoint
  • Port: port of the endpoint

To add a new namespace, press the "+" button next to the namespace header and fill in the fields shown.

Connection Storage

Connection Storage, under Location, is where all Custom Connection Stores used to store Keys and Shards live.

Add a new connection storage under "Key," "Shard," or "FPE" via the "+" button next to the header.

To add a Key or Shard:

  • Storage Type: choice of connection (cannot be changed)
  • Country: chosen from a drop-down list
  • Connection: a type of connection

To add FPE (Format-Preserving Encryption):

  • Storage Type: choice of connection (cannot be changed)
  • Country: chosen from a drop-down list
  • Connection: a type of connection
  • Key: the required encryption key to be delivered to the endpoint
